Aloha! In honor of our Hulu Kūpuna (Precious Elders), please join us at our Saturday, November 4, Holokū Ball. This gala will be held at the Westin Crystal City (Arlington), VA. The evening will start with a cocktail reception (cash bar) with Hawaiian music, where guests can wala`au (chat) with old friends and meet new ones, all while viewing the items for our Live Auction. Dinner will include “local-style” kau kau (food).
We will feature Hulu Kūpuna and other guests in a Fashion Show to share the beauty of their holokū and the grace and elegance of our precious elders! Our featured entertainer will be singer/songwriter Kamakakehau Fernandez whose sweet voice will accompany hula from different hālau and hui in the metro-Washington, D.C. area and, hopefully, beyond! In addition to the entertainment, we will hold a Live Auction, where guests will openly bid against each other with auction paddles as in Christy’s or Sotheby’s auction houses!
